Al-Rashed Company for Food Industries was keen to participate in the central celebration on the occasion of the National Scientific Day to Combat Iodine Deficiency, which was held Thursday, February 17, in Damascus, under the slogan “Daily consumption of iodized salt is the solution to the problem of iodine deficiency disorders,” under the patronage of Dr. Hassan Muhammad Al-Ghabash, Minister of Health and in cooperation with International organizations in the presence of a large number of representatives of ministries and doctors.
With her intervention, the management of Al-Rashed Company indicated that it is in constant contact with the General Corporation for Geology in order to obtain its iodine allocations and to put the product on the market in accordance with the Syrian standard specifications, noting that the results of samples withdrawn from the market conform to specification No. /74/ and that it is keen to: Conducting periodic internal laboratory checks for iodine levels in Al-Rashid salt products.
The session was attended by the Director of Damascus Health, Dr. Muhammad Samer Shahrour, and representatives from the Ministry of Industry, Internal Trade and Consumer Protection, the Ministry of Oil, the Syrian Standards Organization, and the directorates of primary health care and laboratories. The topics varied during the session and centered on the importance of using iodized salt and ways to prevent iodine deficiency.
